Welcome to the Save Sonny’s Sight foundation. We are a not for profit organization dedicated to maintaining quality of life for our beloved animals, in particular, eye-sight. Our animals are very dear to us, and like any other member of the family medical issues can be a concern. Unlike the bi-pedal members of our families though, many of us do not have any sort of health insurance for our pets. Even when we do, the cost is usually up front, to be reimbursed later.
Optical issues are rarely (if ever) life threatening. But, if you had the means to save a friend’s sight, wouldn’t you? Blind dogs can have a difficult time adjusting to their new life, and it is difficult on their humans as well. In some cases, previously amiable dogs can become snippy or even aggressive, as they have no visual queues to their surroundings. We aim to help prevent these difficult issues from affecting other families wherever possible.
